The Speed of Google Chrome

I've honestly only used Chrome a couple of times. It seemed alright but didn't really do anything for me that I couldn't get from Firefox. In recent months, however, Chrome has been coming up in general market share which means I'll probably need to start officially supporting it at work and thus using it on a more frequent basis.

This particular video isn't really a motivator for me...but it's still pretty cool. It's a creative, attention grabbing way to show off Chrome.

Enjoy.

That was cool to watch, but I'm not sure what it was supposed to be telling me.

After I switched to the new blogger template, it was very slow loading. I switched to Chrome and it's lightening fast now.

To comment on the responses above, yes this is a cool video but it left me unsure what to do with it. I still haven't used Chrome more than once or twice. This video 'almost' made me want to try it again, but I haven't had a real reason too. I haven't used it enough personally to notice any real difference between Chrome and Firefox.

Generally I just like the creativity used here.

@willow - I think it's very interesting to hear that your new blogger template loads notably faster in Chrome. That's a pretty compelling recommendation.

I (especially since I work in the web development world) am curious as to what they do to improve load times. I wonder if part of it could be the close interaction between Google and Blogger and as such Chrome has access to some better caching of the blogger templates?

In any case, I'm sure I'll be keeping an eye on this browser from a 'work' perspective.

And in the meantime, I'll have fun watching Google's unique marketing efforts.
